Those who know these things say we eat 7 or 8 spiders a year in our sleep, so how the heck do they know this?

I can't figure out how they could possibly figure any kind of statistics to prove or disprove it.

well...I know a get at least 3 or 4 bites a year......yuk.....man they itch..........so.......you're sleeping when they bite you.......yuk........I also feel itchy when they tell you what's on your bed sheets.....eeeekkkkkkk.....I assume "they're" basing their info on how many bites you get a year???

Maybe this is a variation of the fact that with every breath we take, we kill countless bacteria or other airborne microscopic things that are technically living creatures. There are some religious sects that are so fanatically against "killing" anything, that the followers wear face masks to prevent from killing even these bacteria in the air.

Don't get worked up. These guys r the one's who gulp spiders or gnats or whatever nocturnal species that abound & just to give themselves a vicarious satisfaction they spin such yarns
( especially after their spider supper- ugh!)

Probably guesswork, but they did not say how big the spiders were. Possibly rather small.

This is probably not true since spiders avoid our breath.
The reason that they avoid it is probably because it's similar to the breath of their predators.

It doesn't happen, the gag reflex will get you before you actually swallow them, but it is a myth that this happens.

maybe if you are cockroach infested , you could wake up with one in your mouth , but I doubt if you would swallow that either.
