Salary in any capacity at any university depends on several factors, including:

whether the college is private or public
where the college is located (urban or rural)
whether the college is prestigious or lesser-ranked

But assuming we are comparing salaries at the same university, here is a general guideline. Keep in mind that there will always be exceptions to this general overview.

College presidents will always be paid more money than anyone at the college, with the exception of coaches of Division One football and basketball teams. Coaches sometimes make up to five times the salary of the college president.

Top administrators (Deans, Provosts, VPs, etc.) will earn the next highest overall salaries, but distinguished and full professors of business, law, engineering, and medicine will earn as much or more than some of these administrators. This is because their salaries must be competitive with markets in the private sector.

Full and distinguished professors in the hard sciences will earn less than top administrators.

Full and distinguished professors in the arts and humanities will earn less than their counterparts in the hard sciences.

Associate professors in any field will not earn as much as top administrators.

I hope this helps.
