Is there a comparsion between macbeth and oedipus. What was they in search of within theirselves?

It's a stretch, but...they both meet their demise by RUNNING from prophecies that they believe they can escape, and, in so doing, hasten their own ends.

Or, it might just be that Oedipus pokes out his eyes, and Macbeth has his head lopped off. That's kind of similar.
