I was a Blue Peter person. I found Magpie to be a bit over the top for me (Or as I called the programme... "Shagpile" ;-) ).

"Blue Peter" - I am of the great John Noakes, Valerie Singleton and Peter Purves generation (but I was very young then - my real time was after Singleton left and Leslie Judd came along).
"Magpie" was on ITV and was therefore "common" (according to my middle-class parents). I wasn't even *allowed* to watch ITV until I was about 14!

one for sorrow, two for joy, three for a girl and four for a boy;
