One thing I have learned about stubborn people, that I can give them sound advice and they will disregard it. So I figure they will have to take the hard path to learning their answers. Using patience is better for your character. Then use understanding when the stubborn person find their answers.

why have you appointed yourself committee of one to convice him of anything....
It sounds like someone is having some control issues....
how about you let him be his own person and keep his own opinions without fear of you trying to hit him over the head with your own.

what if he did the same things you are suggesting you might do to him....? Doubt you would like that very much.
Show him that same respect.
Agree to disagree and change the topic!

Look in the mirror before you call him stubborn!

You can not force him to change. Push him and strengthen his will to resist. Hit him and give him hatred to feed his will. Accept him and your advice will be accepted.
