I mean, think about it. People dye their hair, get colored contacts, change their skin color, and get plastic surgery. I mean, I can understand dying your hair because you want a different style, but i don't know about the others. I think that everybody's being conformed. Look at how many blondes we have! It's like, people are ashamed to be themselves! Anyways, i don't know. tell me what you think.
*When i say everybody and stuff like that, i don't mean to generalize.

It's important to me because It's what I've been noticing, and I want to see if anybody noticed it too.

I think that by watching shows on tv there has been a huge beauty standard that we are all supposed to look like celebrities to be considered attractive..look at young girls who are starving because they want to look like a model....people don't realize that these celebrities have professional make-up people, hair stylists, people who shop for them and the biggest one...the money for plastic surgery and botox..look at joan rivers..her face is so tight it looks like it would crack if she smiled!!!

i think if people were to stay in a completely natural state, we would have a lot of homely people. people wouldnt go to the gym. people would be wearing badly outdated clothing from the salvation army.

blonde hair lightens imperfections in the face. it can refresh a mousey librarian nerd type into a sex kitten, because the light plays on the face esp of white people. i dont know about how it is with others.

i agree that plastic surgery is stupid, esp in that i see a lot of ppl with it who dont even look that great. but some people need it so it is wonderful for them. what if you were born with a majorly huge honker of a nose? would you be singing the same tune?

i think as far as the different colorings go, girls just want to have fun. dont you think its fun to change your appearance sometimes? i do.

take care,
caroline

I agree with you. Some of these "styles" are so redic! How much self-hatred fuels the need for so much "style"?!!!

I'm not perfect in the "loving myself" department, but I learned a long time ago (after many crazy colors and perms, and some styles) to go natural, with simple "normal" style... It's just so much easier, and people are more receptive to it.

I don't think people are being fake in what you described I think this is how a person wants to see them selves as. Why is this such an importance to you?
