With two such different locations everyone is instantly going to think and make comparisons of the weather.
If the weather is not an issue with you then think of the things that are.
~ Employment opportunities.
~ Housing (California is an expensive state to live in).
~ Friends and family. Do you have relatives or friends in either of these places?
~ And whatever else is important for you to have an enjoyable life.

If it were me, I would certainly choose Alaska. It would be more of an adventure to live there and a different type of lifestyle to that of Californias.
I could be wrong but I think the Alaskan people would be friendlier too.
And of course Alaska is a far more scenic place in which to live.
This is Anchorage's Convention and Visitors Bureau website (OMG the scenery), you might like to have a look at what the city offers:

And (to be fair) this is Pomona's city's website:

I have been to Pomona Ca. Although it has a cool drag racing strip where funny cars and dragsters race, it is kind of a dirty city. I'd recommend Alaska because it never gets hot there like it does in California (90+ degrees in summer).

AND California is one of the most expensive states to live in. Our gasoline price is up to $2.85 for 87 octane. The traffic is horrible, and people drive like jerks. I've never been to Alaska, but i'd imagine it's nicer than here. You can also build snowmen!

If the cold and long, dark winters don't bother you, Anchorage, AK would probably be the better choice financially.

Ak would be my choice, Great hunting and fishing, and as a resident you get to share in the oil revenue

Alaska! California, although decent, is filled with alot of jerks. And pollution. Alaska is wonderful, but not for everyone.

Move to Vegas.

In 10,000 years California will have broken off and drifted up to Alaska, choose Pamona and save on moving expenses!
