I have a layover in Dehli and I would love to sleep, shower, etc... I want a hotel that is inexpensive yet safe for a single female traveler. Any suggestions / experiences?

The Centaur Airport Hotel is a 5 star only a few minutes [2kms ] from the domestic and international airports. It's a large hotel with 376 rooms and excellent security and room service. I think it's worth the extra $30 or so over a 4 star - but take your pick.

It has high standards required as a 5 star .

Alternateively - a bit further 4 kilometres from the Indira Gandhi International Airport, you can find the Ashok Country Resort New Delhi - there's a good description and images on the links i provided you below.

The larger hotel will probably make you feel a lot safer, i think.

I hope this is helpful

If you can trust me, I can accommodate you in my apartment. I m 60 yrs old and I live with my servant and a 32 yrs woman from Chile, who has come here for treatment of her arthritis.
Domestic airport is only 12 kms from my place and I can pick you up and also drop back.
