i am conducting an investigatory project in physics regarding the use of the sap of a certain tree or plant as a substitute or the fluid used in lighters. Now, i don't know what tree or plant that can be found in the Philippines, particularly in Luzon, has a flammable sap.

What tree sap contains ethanol, then you could just put in collectors and create a big forest of tree's and watch the bio-diesel pour in. Could you genetically alter a tree to produce more.... I would hate to be putting out that fire.

Sap? not sure, but whatever it is i'm sure it will smell good.
