OK i have read all of the other answers above mine and let me say that freaks need love too!!!! I worked as a carny for a while and the rides are maintained and lubed frequently and if anything is wrong with the ride it is not opened up for public use. i cant speak for all carnivals but the 1 that i was in was good and the only bad thing that happened from time to time was someone puked or peed on a ride now and then. and carny ppl aren't all big hands and smell like cabbage i have small hands and smelled like cotton candy!!!:))LOL

If you mean the traveling canivals, I don't see how they can be. They break those rides down and put them back up so often and so quickly. And have you seen the carnies who operate the rides?!

The rides are but the operators leave a lot to be desired...
