i don't need it or anything. i'm just confused about what i saw on a website. my local pharmacy's website says "rx required" but i saw other websites that you can order it from. so curiously, then i started to look around on the internet and it seems that its not available over the counter in all areas yet? why would it be in some places and not others when the FDA approved it for over the counter?

Plan B become OTC back in November. The FDA made it OTC, and so, it will be for the entire country. They might not have updated the website.

I thought it wa s already I searched the web and found one aricle stating it is as of Aug 2006 I think you can further reasearch it t o be sure-I also believe that some individual pharmacies and pharmacists object to it and got permission to refuse giving it out-so call first. See planned parenthoo website below-very helpful info and phone numbers to call It suggests you buy it ahead and place it in your medicine cabinet just like you maight have tylenol or cough medicine on hand. That would bemore convenient and less panicky in case since you need to take it within a couple days-see website.

Plan B IS available over the counter. You can get it at your local planned parenthood, clinic, or doctor's office. You do not need a prescription because it is OTC. If you are under 18, you will still need a prescription.

The best thing to do is ask your local pharmacist or just call them if you don't want them to know who is asking. They should be able to tell you this over the phone.

This is not over the counter. You can buy it online but you have to have an prescription for it from your doctor. You need to provide this information when you order the medication.
