Hii

As our others frnds said it depends on the Router,
You have to log into the router using its IP and username and password you have set, If you have not set any username and password it would have come with default settings.

Now next step is you have to find the WLAN setting on the wireless router/modem. once you have find that then you have to check for which radio you have to change the channels (if your modem supports both b & a radios)

For B/G radio channels 1,6,11 are considered as non-overlapping but if u r having interference on these channels (like ur neighbors have also set on of these channels) then choose the different one.

Also if your Modem and client both supports A radio then I will suggest you to use A radio as on B radio there are chances of much interfernce as compared to a radio because:

1. Your microwave , many cordless fones etc works on same frequency as of b/g radio as chances are much of interfernce.

2. Most of SOHO level routers/modems in use are b/g only as they are slighlty cheap than a/b/g ones so more people are having that.

Hope this helps

Depending on which router you have you have login to the settings menu which can be done by opening Internet explorer and typing http://192.168.1.1 it will then bring up a user name and password prompt. Depending on which make and model you have depends on which default admin password to use. Most of them are admin and admin or admin and password. admin is the user name and password with some and and the word "password" may be the actual password. Once you've entered the settings panel you can then look for wireles and then channel or something close to that!

It all depends on the router but most will have you to go to this router setup webpage here http://192.168.0.1/ and type in your password if you have one. The user name is usually Admin. You can change the channel in one of the options.
