My boy had all kinds of cool robots and toys and video games and he shared this stuff with his best friend.
Well recently, they got in a fight but before the kid left, it turns out he put a bunch of my kids toys in his backpack.
Is this fair? Should I call the kids parents and tell him to return it or call the cops?

That happened to me too when i was in kindergarden.
The girl who sat next to me likes everything that i brought including pencil case, water bottle etc.
Everytime she saw me taking my stuff out, she'll just snatch them off n say "this is nice, give it to me", n put them in her bag.
Always got scolded by my parents for losing more and more items after school.
In the end i got pissed off n report it to the teacher and she finally returned them all back to me.
To think of it now, she really is a spoilt brat!
Apparently her parent's didn't know that she's been taking ppl's stuff home.
One thing different is that this girl took my stuff off without having to fight, she'll just take it as if she can own whatever she likes. Problematic.
I think you should inform the boy's parents.
But better not make it too harsh, perhaps he doesn't understand what is wrong about stealing. He might think that taking ppl's stuff is a way of revenge.
and try make them regain their friendship if possible.
I'm not a parent nor some kinda children councellor.
u don't really have to rely on my words.
I'm just giving my point of view.

Don't call- go over their house now-- before the kid stashes the stuff where the parents can't find it. If it's too late to go over, call the parents and speak with the father- tell him exactly all the items that were taken and describe them....if the father calls you back and tells you that his son "doesn't have them and states he didn't take them", then you are stuck....the police will do nothing, it will be his word against your son's that's why I say go over there now and catch him with the stuff.........good luck
PS and why didn't your son tell you this before the kid left? If you can't get the stuff back from this kid-- reprimand your son for not telling you immediately.

I would take my child and go visit the kids parents and explain what is going on. They might not know anything about it. They will probably corporate with you but if they didn't make a list of everything missing and any witness that you might have and be prepared to go to court with it. I don't see any need in involving the police until you talk with the parent of the other child.

Just call the parents of the other kid and demand the stuff back.
make sure your son didnt hide the stuff or make this up.
im sure u can settle this between the other folks without callin

I think that you might want to get a hold of the kids parents and tell them that their child has some of your child's toys...and why you think that he took them....be honest...
