I'm not sure if this works but works but someone told me that if you lower your body a little and swing your arms faster you can run fast.

You only can go to your natural ability to run. From your Genes. If you run a 4.8 40, then no matter what you do, you will always run close to that. You might get down to 4.65..Who cares... Don't waist your time with all the running techniques and track training. Too many other factors and skills to improve in Football to only concentrate on your 40 time. Football is 95 percent mental, remember that.... Try working on your cutting ability or "off the line" acceleration. You are a football player not a track star...

When I was in high school, I was not as big as some of the other players, so instead of working the weights for my upper body like most were doing, I worked my legs.
Most important to leg strength is the leg press. You do not need to break any weightlifting records, just a reasonable amount. Then you work on pumping as many fast reps as you can.
After that, use the same weight and just press up with your toes. This will strengthen you calves and help you to keep from injuring your ankles.
You will also need to stretch your legs muscles and jog distances to keep them from getting fatigued as quickly. Drink lots of water to maintain you hydration as well.
Remember that going fast in one direction is not nearly as important as making sharp cuts and redirections (unless you are a WR)

Good luck

well i am about 6'1" 240 and i was about 230 in high school which was about two years ago. i started off running a 5.0 forty then at the middle of my season i was running a 4.78. the coaches had me run up and down hills as fast as i could, while also doing squats on days i didnt run much. remember to always stretch before and after running. the more flexible you are, the better you are going to be at running

Work on your agility, and leg muscles. Building your leg muscle will make your legs stronger. If your work on your agility you will become quicker with your feet.
