I went over the speed bumps to my townhouse and i sorta went over it faster than usual and it made a BANG noise, and so i checked it and there's this plastic cover on the bottom of the car i guess it covers the axle, it was loose. And i tried jacking the car up to check under, but either because i didn't jack it up high enough the frame only went up and not the tires.....my dad is a retired auto mechanic so i called him at work and he told me to check the shock absorbers by pressin down the drivers and passengers side, but the drivers side is really sturdy, but the passengers side is really loose and it bounces a lot but it still returns back what can the problem be? if there is one?

Sounds like you blew the passenger side strut. It shouldn't bounce. It is recommended to change both struts at the same time, but if you don't have the money, at least get the bad one changed.

ask your dad what could be wrong. i'm not a mechanic but to me it sounds like you shocks are going out allowing the car to bounce more than it should and the springs are going out allowing the car the bottom out when you went over the speed bump. the bang could have been your extension arms reaching there maximum movement, or the cars undercarrage hitting the bump.

that bang was probably you hitting your under carriage, in a car especially a honda you gotta be very careful to not bust your oil pan when going over those speed bumps, try going over them one wheel at a time, plus that plastic cover is not meant to cover your shocks its there to protect electrical components like your starter from getting wet, if it drives normal dont worry about it just go ahead and rip out that plastic cover

Hi You probably broke a strut on that side of the car.I would take the car in to your favorite repair shop and get it taken care of now.You do not want to drive around with this damage, you will cause more damage to under carriage.Good Luck

I doubt its the shocks, they are designed to compress, you probably just bottomed out. I would check under the car to see what was impacted, hope you did not whack the oil pan.
