The prenatal vitamins sold at discount stores (like walmart) are just as good as prescribed ones! (and A LOT more inexpensive) They are about $10 for a bottle that will last your whole pregnancy and a little while after! What is important is that you take them everyday! Unless you have special nutritional deficits, these are just as good as any!

Your Ob/Gyn will prescribe the kind that is best for you. Prescription prenatal vitamins are usually the best. He will also know exactly which formula to prescribe for you based on your blood work and if you need one higher in iron. He can also prescribe one higher in folic acid. These are more potent than the over the counter kind. And are often covered by insurance (your insurance with not pay for over the counter vitamins). I also found that the prescription kind were less likely to upset my stomach.

I took Rainbow Light Prenatal Vitamins and loved them. I didn't experience nausea with them and I had a great pregnancy... I think these vitamins had something to do with that. I bought mine at drugstore.com They are all natural and free of the yucky artificial stuff.

go to a natural food store, that's were you'll find the best. i liked simply one prenatal, mad by super nutrition, they have lots more to. the good thing about them is that they actually digest, those one at walmart or prescription one are not good for you, only 10 to20 present of the pill digest, that mean's the other 80% is wasted, those pills are like glue&rock. 10-20% is better then nothing but if you don't have to take them don't,look for food based or liquid. the folate=falic acid&folacin and calcium are very important.the food based onedigest, give you the most energy when your pregnet and they dont constapait you and that's grate. its a good thing to reserch.i really hope that helps

The best ones are from the doctor, because they are stronger then any pills that are over the counter. They are very helpful because your baby needs iron from you, and you need to compensate for it.
