The same reason why a guy can say he "cares" about a girl but can't admit he "loves" her....fear of committment-- telling someone they are beautiful is an "awe" factor- like sonny corleone in the godfather when he saw this beautiful woman in Italy who he then asked to marry him-- he was thunderstruck by her beauty.....men do not want to commit- not even if she is beautiful.

Boys are like that, very conservative. It's like, if I tell you you are cute you might go out with me, but if I tell you you are beautiful you might become stuck up and think "Why waste time on this loser?" Does that help?

he think she is cute - but what is the problem if he said cute that mean the look is just good for him if that girl wants more attension she need to be closer & friendly
