If you can prove the former owner knew about the mold and did not disclose it you have a pretty good chance in court. If you can prove the sellers agent knew about it you have a damn good chance of winning.
Mold thrives with excess moisture. Make sure you have repaired all the leaks and everything that requires ventilation is vented. I don't know where you live but some kind of dehumidification may be required.

thats why u should pay an inspector to inspect the place first. once your deal is close, its closed. "as is" you'll take the place as it is and any problems right now or in the future, its all on you. you live and you learn. always inspect the place before you close the deal. that way you have an option to let the previous owner fix any problems first. If they don't want to, ask the owner to down the price that they're asking for. get an estimate of how much it will cost to fix whatever problem the place might have, and u minus that amount from the price that the owner is asking for. but since u already bought the place, its now your responsibility. sorry!

I would buy a test kit before I jumped. You may just have mildew, which can be eliminated with bleach and dehumidifiers. Home Depot sells them for about $30.00.

you should have had a home inspection.....if the seller sold to you knowing there was mold, they are liable...but how will you prove that? call the real estate agent and ask for advice
