Because they are not girls. What if you were who you were, but in a man's body? Your gender is not determined by the downstairs anatomy; it is determined by your hypothalamus. It is simply a condition most of us can't comprehend because we're not affected by- our brains and body are in sync. A TG person has a brain like a helicopter- it is built to tear itself apart. So either you don't make waves because of societal disapproval (and live a life of misery) or correct the error and do the sex change. Mind you, SRS for FTM is nowhere near where MTF is, but it is there. It not an easy choice, but we have to come to terms with the fact that nothing- even something as basic as gender- is as simple as we previously assumed.

transsexualism is a neurological condition. overall, we are who our brains say we are. society wants to define a person by their looks, their body their outter shell, however, in reality, the brain IS the person. no brain = no life.
if the brain says you are a man, then no matter what body parts you have been biologically assgined, the person won't feel happy/comfortable until they can become as much of a man as physically possible..
changing sex has nothing to do with societial roles of gender.. transgender and transsexual are two different things..

I thank God every day for makign me a boy. girls have it tough, I just got out of my first semester of health class--I wouldn't want to go through half the stuff they have to deal with...

They are bored perhaps...or they want to push their limits...it is wrong to want something like that. I would never do that, as I am pleased with who and how I am. You should be too...Be the best of whatever you are!!!
