*** STOP 0X000000ED means UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME ***

read the following description from Microsoft, maybe you can get your laptop back to work yourself, otherwise take it to a computer technician.

good luck

The only real way to get any advice on this would be to get the information from the error message it's giving you. Get a camera and take a picture, or try to write it down as fast as you can. Otherwise, it's really impossible to see what the problem is.

Chances are, though, is that your operating system is shot. You may need to reformat. Reformatting, however, will cause you to lose EVERYTHING on your hard drive, so if you can get any information on the errors so we can help you without losing all your stuff, you might want to try and do that.

if anything failed, your only last option is to format and reinstall your computer again. does your computer come with recovery discs? if it does, then oop in the disc, restart your computer, since you're using HP, press F12 (I think) to load up the choice which one to boot up first, select CD drive, then it will automatic clean up your computer and restart everything all over again, and as you predicted, it will delete everything.

I recommend that you take it to a computer technician. I think that only he will be able to recover your data. Even that he have to format and reinstall all the programs later.

Sounds like you need a computer geek. It will cost you. Time to buy a new lap top. It was inevitable.
