My daughter who is 2 1/2 has recently been waking up early in the morning several times and I don't know why she just started this like maybe a month ago. How or why is she doing this and how do I get her through the night again? I have a 2 month old and between the 2 of them I am lucky if I get 3-4 hours of sleep at night. I know that it is not my 2 month old waking her up because it is at different times of the night. If anyone has any suggestions please let me here them. Thank you.

Having a new baby in the family has probably been part of it... It's possible that she wants your attention. She sees the other baby waking up all the time and how it gets your attention. Perhaps letting her stay up a tad later than you used to would help. Get the baby to sleep first, and then have a good 30 minutes of you reading books with her or telling her a story. Tuck her in, give her a kiss and tell her that you'll see her in the morning. This little extra tlc might calm her down and help her sleep better. And if she goes to bed a little bit later, she may sleep a little later too. Good luck!

My daughter used to do this, and it was because she wanted the light on. The nightlight had always been enough before, suddenly it wasn't. When your daughter wakes up, is she crying or just calling for you? If you don't go to her right away what happens? Are you worried that she will wake up the 2 month old? My children are almost 3 and 5 months, and I'm amazed that she will go to sleep while he's screaming, and he can sleep through all her racket.

They can start having dreams and that can wake then up at that age. She could be insecure because of the new baby. You can get herbal teas for children to help them sleep. You can also massage her feet at night after giving her a warm bath with lavender baby wash. That can really help.

I had the same probelm!~!!!! Why they wake up is far beyond me, but they do. To play and see you and grab your attention. All i can say is hang in there. She could be doing this becasue you have anew baby in tow. :) Maybe try telling her to go to her bed and you will come see her alone when the other baby is sleeping. maybe she will fall asleep before you get there... ask DAD for help.. he gets older baby nd you take care of younger one.
