If you REALLY want to impress, help your boyfriend carry his tennis bat in between points.
And scream "GOAL!!!!" every time he wins a point.

You are a good gf for going to watch his match. The main thing you need to know as a spectator is the proper way to conduct yourself in the stands. First you need to know some basics so you know how to behave.
Most official tournaments are best of 3 sets, so the first player to win 2 sets wins. In order to win a set you need to get to 6 games before your opponent, so you might see a score like 6-4, 6-2..
The set is win by 2 though, so if both players have 5, and one player wins the next game to go up 6-5 he hasn't won the set yet. If he wins the next game he will win the set 7-5, if he loses the game and the score is 6-6, they play a tiebreaker to see who wins the set.
The tiebreaker is first to 7 points, win by 2. One player gets one serve to start the tiebreaker, and then they alternate 2 serves after that.
Remember I said a set is first to 6 games? Each game has one player serving and the other player receiving. The server gets 2 chances to hit the ball in the box on the opposite side from where he's standing. After that they have to bit the ball in big box (and lines are in).
Each game is first to 4 points, win by 2. But instead of counting points with 0, 1,2,3 and game, they use love, 15, 30, 40 and game. If both players have the same score you say the score followed by all, so 15 all or 30 all. However, instead of saying 40 all you say deuce, because its win by 2 there. The person who wins the deuece point then has ad.
You do not applaud when his opponent misses a first serve or double faults (misses both serves). This is considered very rude.
You should also be quiet during the point, as the players need to concentrate and the sound the ball makes is important to rhythm. You can cheer between points, or after a really good shot, but don't be surprised if he doesn't look up at you, as he will be concentrating on the match, even though he hears and appreciates you.
Another thing is that between odd games the players change sides and get a chance to sit down and get something to drink.

Tennis is easy, you may want to get out and join your bf.
Lets see you can play tennis with 2 or 4 people.
2 on each side of the net.
You have the server (right corner).
The server serves the ball across the net and the opponent
lets the ball bounce most of the time and hit the ball back.
The side that misses the ball and dont hit back loses points.
Hope you join in on the game.

hehehe thats cute. only the person serving can score a point if the other person cant hit it back. and if that person can hit it back he cant score he just gets to serve now. same thing happens.
person 1 serves, person 2 cant hit it back person 1 scores.
person 1 serves again, person 2 gets it by person 1, person 2 doesnt score but gets to serve next.
person 2 serves now, gets it by person 1, now he scores
the scores are: love (which is a term for 0), 15, 30, 45, and 60.
hope this helps :) good luck!
