Is beauty really skin deep? Or maybe pocket deep or/and political power? In general, White/Caucasians are accepted as the standard of beauty (very generally speaking here). Do you think that as other countries such as China which is becoming wealthier and politically more influential world wide challenges the long standing view of beauty, judged against Whites? for example, are Chinese (and other Asians) being (or will be) perceived to be more attractive because China is becoming more powerful?

Not much; look at Condoleezza Rice. She's doing it big, and she looks like a pitbull.

Well, I don't think it correlates on a scale that large.

I was thinking more in terms of the fact that having more money allows one to buy more cosmetic enhancements. If I can afford grooming materials, surgery, clothing, etc. to enhance my appearance, I will likely be seen as more attractive than the next person who cannot afford such things.

It's a good question. I'd give you a star, but I don't give anyone stars.

God bless.

I challenge you to find one attractive person in politics, aside from Ann Coultier, John Edwards, and the Bush and Kerry daughters.

I think you have answered your own question. Science has shown that we have certain standards of beauty built into us.
Not PC but DNA and Genetics really does not care.
