There are many herbs out there. I had very good luck with Fenugreek. I smelled like maple syrup, which was weird, but baby was happy. Oatmeal is a folk remedy that many cultures use. Just remember that baby knows how to increase your milk supply if he needs more. Don't lose confidence just because your baby is marathon feeding or because you no longer leak, feel engorgement or feel letdown. You have plenty of milk. Herbs like Fenugreek or Blessed Thistle or marshmallow root, or eating oatmeal won't hurt you. If they help, go for it.

actually there is. I have had it myself... but i'm sorry i can't remember what it is called.... one of my girlfriends told me she was prescribed a drug and it worked so i told my doc and got the exact same thing which did help but only in the short run. i expected it to do everything for me when i should have had baby do it all himself. the more baby is on your breast, the more you're body produces to keep up with demands. i learnt that the second time around. as often as possible, have baby on the breast. eventually you'll be producing a lot more than baby needs. don't let other women intimidate you if they are producing more than you are. i got that a lot with my first child.
good luck

like versan said it is a supply and demand system. The more the baby nurses, the more milk is produced. You can use a pump to stimulate more milk also. Call the GYN's office or pediatrician to see if there's anything elso to do.

Not that I know of, but you can ask your doctor about it, whatever you do, do not let them talk you into switching you baby to formula....some things you can do to help are to feed baby on demand (anytime your little one wants to eat), and pump in between, the more you express, the more you will produce...also make sure you drink a lot of water/juice and make sure you're eating good! As long as your little one is producing wet diapers, they are getting enough to eat! good luck!

Not sure, I think maybe. I co-slept with my newborn. He ate around the clock. I had a great supply, I nursed for over a year.

Fenugreek - but it's not perscription. It's a natural remedy - talk to a natural or health food store about how much to take. It works!!!

nothing. continue with prenatal vitamins to replenish any nutrients that you lose. increase your water intake.
pump more frequently to increase supply, but remember supply=demand.
