i have been told that if a hamster is fed meat, it will turn him mean and make him bite, is this true?

That is a lengend and it is not true but you shouldn't be feeding him meat because it is not in their diet. Hamsters are vegetarains and not carnavores

I'm sure hamsters in the wild would eat the occasional insect, which is after all a meat protein. Not a regular diet to be sure, but a little would not hurt.

Yes, this is true. I've seen it happen several times. Once they kill another animal, they are not the same, and they sometimes start to bite humans. Don't do it. Meat is not in a hamster's diet.

huh!, i don't think so can happen but i can tell you that its not good ideas to give any meats to hamsters cause it might make it sicker and maybe make it throwing up or can end dead . so if you want to try to get youre hamster a better food or treats . you can go to the pet smart store and buy a buy of supreme mix vegetables snacks its has vitamin C , its healthy for hamsters and guinea pigs . you can use youre petsmart card and save about 20 % off .

Hamsters are not omnivores but are vegetarians, so the answers is no. Hamsters will bite if surprised, mishandled, abused or not socialized. If you try to feed them meat, you can end up killing them

No it sure is not true. They do not have to eat much, but even in the wild they crave and eat meat.

do not feed them meat, feed them commercial food, fruit, grass, berrys, anything but meat.

i have read that meat can be provided as small chunks, but don't feed them pork.
