Ok so all you ever hear on those fashion shows is that horizontal stripes are a no no, no matter who you are or what you look like (especially on "What Not To Wear") then why do you always see horizontal stripes on clothing and never (hardly ever) vertical stripes!!?? I mean, you would think that eventually some clothing company would realize and come up with vertical stripes on clothing, any one know why they dont?

I've only heard that if you're bigger, not to wear them. Every clothing brand makes shirt that have them, I wear them.. Just get whatever you like. No one will stop you and tell you it's a no-no, hehe.

Because people keep on buying horizontal striped clothes. Stop buying them, and the clothing manufacturers will stop making them.
But I agree, it's hard to find stripes that are vertical. Sometimes I find stuff that is cut on the bias (diagonally) and it has basically the same effect as vertical stripes, so I'll get those.

well i have to say i have a horizontaly striped sweater people are in love with and it doesnt make me look big AT ALL so some stripes are okay, mainly layering. but there are a lot of disgusting clothes out there with horizontal stripes. its okay. the designers are all just on drugs =]

Because people on fashion shows act purposely opinionated for ratings. They are also usually coming from a very conservative fashion standpoint. They do not have any appreciation for subculture or youth fashions, and goth/emo/punk kids are usually the ones that wear horizontal stripes.

Because if the stylest can't get mentioned on the best list they can get mentioned on the worse and atleast they are mentioned. Honestly who knows, I think it's silly also. I think they do it just to make the fashion challenged people show that they are fashion challenged.
