Glass is a relatively unreactive substance. Strong acids reacti with plastic. Some plastics can be used to store weaker acids (like vinegar).

When you take organic chemistry, you'll learn about the reactions that hydrocarbons like plastic or wood can undergo. There are two reactions to be avoided: they can be oxidized, "burnt" by oxoacids like sulfuric, nitric or perchloric acid which might eat through the container and would use up the acid. Also, parts of the plastic or wood can "add" halic acids to their structure, using up the acid and changing the properties of the wood or plastic. Halic acids are hydrochloric, hydrobromic, hydroiodic (and hydrofluoric but you're not going to work with that, its nasty stuff.)
Unglazed Porcelain, clay and many other ceramics are basic and so they might neutralize the acid. Glass is pretty inert and somewhat acidic, which is why bases are often kept in plastic. The glazes used on ceramics are also pretty inert. When I say these substances are acidic or basic, I mean they can act like Lewis Acids or Lewis Bases, obviously they have no appreciable solubility in water.

It is safer to be kept in glass or porcelain bottles because they are resistantto corrosive properties of the acid.all the rest material, somehow they react with the acids.

Because glass is not affected by acids. In other words, acids do not corode glass. Acids react with virtually everything else - metals, plastics, paper, everything.

Glass is about the most inert container. Also, glass can be reused for years. Plastics, over time will saturate will the chemicals.

glass does not react with the acid....
if stored in metallic containers the acid would reat with the metal to form salt + hygrogen gas............

some acids undergo combustion to give poisonous gases and hence they are stored in amber colored bottles to prevent their
combustion
