You can sleep anyway you want as long as you are comfortable. I think i remember talking to my doctors about this a long time ago and she was saying that there are less chances of the baby leaning on your sciatic nerve (VERY PAINFUL!) if you are on your left side. But you can sleep any way you want as long as you are comfortable.

No. It really dosent matter. They say the left side because the baby gets better blood flow when you lay on your left side. Dont worry just a few more weeks and you wont be sleeping at all, then when you can fall asleep youll wake up to a crying baby. But just smile because it goes by way to fast and then youll be ready for more sleepless nights!!! Good Luck and Congrats

As you get further along sleeping on your back can cause serious back pains. More so than just plain old being pregnant. They say that sleeping on your left side is better because there aren't any major ograns there. So there isn't anything pressing on anything and the blood flows better. Unless your doctor tells you otherwise.. ..SLEEP FOR COMFORT! -smiling-

No, it doesn't matter at all. They say that laying on the left side can be better because it allows better blood flow, but that doesn't make the right side bad. I have to sleep on my right, I think it's because my back is slightly crooked... The time that you are highly encrouraged to lay on the left is when you feel dizzy, sick, or feel like you are in early labor. So be comfortable on whichever side you choose :)

It really doesnt matter, they just prefer the left side . Do you know how hard it would be to sleep only on your left side all night for 40 wks??

As you said, the left side is the best. But I hated my left side and always slept on the right. My kids came out just fine. :)

Do seek for advice out of your toddler's wellbeing customer (if interior the united kingdom) or whoever you will possibly in many situations see for him. interior the period in-between, have you ever tried raising the top-end of his cot whilst he's in that. as lengthy as you place him to be feet-to-foot of mattress, and its basically a mushy incline he shouldn't slide down. whilst he's not in mattress, use a bouncy-seat/rocker chair for him, so he's not sitting up, yet he's not mendacity flat the two. Wind him area way by using his feeds and permit him a minimum of 10 minutes after an entire feed to be upright so as that it has of venture to get down and previous his abdomen and on into his digestive device. If this has continuously been the case consisting of your son, there's a threat of an anatomical anomaly. The valve above the tummy could be "incompetent" and easily not reliable sufficient to maintain the feed retained interior the tummy. this could be very not likely. The wellbeing facility does not have permit him living house with you if he had extreme feeding issues, so I doubt its this.

I slept on both (i have a 3 week old boy). By the time you get to 8 months i would advise you to sleep on your head if you could - there is no position that is comfortable then and you will have to sleep anyway you can.

I was in a serious accident a few years back and my liver was pretty damaged and so i asked that very same question to the specialist,He told me that for women it doesn't make any difference in wich side they sleep even if on their back or stomack..but on me who are over 30 it is not recommended for them to lay on their left side because it causes the lungs to put weight and pressure on the heart so that means the heart must work extra hard while the person is sleeping.and so the person wakes up not feeling very refreshed.i hope this helps you out a bit in your quest for information
