The legend lives on from the Beltway on down
Of the big fake they call Richard Cheney
The man, it is said, never thinks of our dead
When the skies of November turn rainy.
With a Haliburton score - $100 billion or more
Those oilmen sure made it sound urgent
Our good soldiers would die in the blink of a lie
And the bombs of Iraqi insurgents…
Concluding the terms with some Saudi oil firms
They left fully loaded for Baghdad
But later they’d find as they left men behind
The right armor just wasn’t to be had
Freedom’s the pride of America’s side
But why are the guilty forgotten?
Our brave daughters and sons and their army of one
Are not fighting Osama Bin Ladin
As criminals go ours are bigger than most
But we’re hopeful and now there’s a reason
An untouchable man’s doing all that he can
May they all go on trial for treason!

Thanks.
I wrote it the first time I heard Patrick Fitzgerald speak, I think it was in 2004. I dug it back up recently.

Look....lady...you're beginning to sound like Cindy Sheahan, who's been cuddling next to Chavez too long.
My family is over there fighting and I'd love for them to read this....thing you made up. If they knew who you were, they'd probably hunt you down and string you up by your toes.
THIS WAR IS NOT NOW, NOR EVER HAS BEEN ABOUT OIL!! And I'm sitting here wondering where you people get your information from.
Well, I KNOW where mine comes from...and it's from 'the source.' IF anyone goes to trial, you'd be the first one in line for conviction as a traitor. You might get lots of points because the liberals love your cantor, but families of the soldiers are NOT your fans.
So, take a seat next to Cindy Shehan and you'll be tried for a crime as well.

Are you excusing Halliburton shareholder Michael Moore and majority owner (and MoveOn.org founder) George Soros? A corporation is the sum of it's stockholders. Yes, it was stupid to contract so much out to a company like Halliburton, but unlike democrats and the stocks they own, Cheney had to liquidate his. The foolishness of the Iraq plan was thinking we would find a "good side" to be on. We might better have waited for Saddam to nuke somebody and then wiped the country off the map, which, incidentally, would lead to a lot more collateral damage there, and some here I expect. Saddam was in violation of UN terms, with help of crooks at the UN, France (which Joe Wilson has a peculiar relation with) and Russia, nobody was doing nothing about it. And no one has yet offered a better solution we could have tried than sending one resolution after another, as had been done for 13 years. but there is opportunity with Iran for dems to show us how to deal with a belligerent state threatening to destroy the USA and Isreal seeking nuclear weapons. Time well tell but my bet is their diplomacy ends either with our surrender or glowing mushroom clouds.

Guilty until proven innocent.
Great values you have.
What happens next is we make sedition legal again and arrest all the people that undermined our country with attacks on President Bush and Former President Clinton.
That's what happens next, as some of us are still patriots and know the difference between disagreement, dissent and protest VS. sedition.

Kudos for the poem.
My guess is that ol' deadeye Dick will conveniently have a fatal heart attack, the same way William Casey did before the Iran-Contra hearings.
Bush will retire to infamy without charges ever being filed,
even though the U.S. will still be in Iraq when he leaves office.
