How come it's okay to open a coffee shop where the dressing code is "sexy, sleezy, and slutty," but it's not okay to breastfeed your child in public?
And how come it's okay to have sex at the age of 16, but you can't watch it on TV until you're 18 (that is rated R)?

I just find it strange that a child being fed in public is regarded as "public indecency," but there's a coffe shop down the street where their shorts are way up there, the tops are way down there, and everything is "see-through," and that's okay by everyone???????? (The shop is flooded with people too ... lots of people ... )

Well actually most states have laws that specifically exclude public breastfeeding from public indecency laws. Some even make it illegal to ask a breastfeeding mother to stop nursing in private and public locations. Most states also have removed the word "discreet" from the breastfeeding laws because discreet is impossible to define with breastfeeding. That being said, Americans happen to be the most ignorant when it comes to breastfeeding. So while laws do not preclude a mother from breastfeeding in public, harrassment from the ignorant might make things so uncomfortable, she may not feel safe. Ihave breastfed my daughter in public and once had a confrontation with this fool on the beach. I won.

OK, so now to answer your question. Yes, it is insane that it is ok for people to dress like prostitutes in the daytime at the coffeeshop, they can send you to war at 18 but you can't have a beer with your friends the night before you leave for bootcamp. Welcome to America. WIth the millions of great things about our country, it's still full of complete idiots.

I didn't know a woman couldn't breast feed in public, I thought they were allowed as long as they had a blanket covering them. As for kids having sex at 16...it really isn't alright, but their going to do what they want to do, but as for TV entertainment, at least by putting a rating on it, the entertainment world would not be held accountable for the actions of anyone under 18. It basically covers their butt.
