To me, it means not having anything worth living for. It doesn't matter if you live for your career, your family, your hobbies, whatever, as long as you have a balance that works for you. The exception would be those sick with drug addictions who live just for the next high. People who have no life are generally very unhappy people, because nothing will probably make them happy.

this a very deep question for polls & surveys---but anyway
not having a life for me was when i had to take care of my parents for over 10 years when they got sick
i loved them---but i have no time for myself
i put all my plans and dreams 'on hold'
and slowly i lost myself into taking care of them
i had no life of my own
after they died---i asked myself---"who am i?"

That you sit at home all day, alone and never go out with anyone. or your friends. I have no life because of all that, but I sit home taking care of my mom who is 93 years old. my choice.
