People, these are stereotypes. They are not the truth. Damn... I'm from the ghetto. I've had dozens of girls with crushes on me at any given time. And it's still not easy to get wit any sister. Some wit low self-esteem are not just giving it up easily. There are promiscuous girls in every race who allow such. Yawl need to stop listening to Neanderthals. It has nothing to do with race. I'm doing a paper on sexuality and all that fun stuff in teenagers, and the chance of blacks or whites having sex is about the same. The factor that seems to change it is how much they come in contact with things of a sexual nature like tv, movies, music ect. and whether or not parents actually talk to them about sex. So do yourself a favor and realize that people's environment affects how they're going to act, not their race.

What? They aren't. Girls of all races are having sex at a younger and younger age, at least in America. It isn't isolated to any particular race, and it definitely has nothing to do with economic status. Poor people don't have sex at a younger age than rich people. That's just ridiculous.

I'm sure some sociologist crammed some statistics together that showed some correlation between poor, under-educated, unsupervised, "inner-city" black girls, and the rate of teen-aged pregnancy.

And I'm equally sure I could cram some statistics together that shows a correlation between rich, educated, well supervised "suburban" white girls, and the rate of teen-aged abortion.

I think it's because black men have a higher tendency to leave their children. People usually acknowledge that boys need their fathers but they tend to forget that girls need the guidance and love from their fathers just as much or even more. At a young age these same girls are seeking "love" from males so they will give it up to the first guy that offers them acceptance or tells them what they have always wanted to hear from their fathers.

Well that tends to be a economic issue i think more then a racial one.

A greater percentage of black americans live at or below the poverty line then white americans.

However, if you examine the same economic strata amongst the whites, you will find the same percentage (which is too high) of young girls having sex.
