Health inspetors closed it down. Yum brands which owns the chain said no excuse to the franchiser and shut down others as well. Before they can re-open they have to be re-inspected and repaired.

I'm not sure about NYC, but they closed a few Taco Bells here in Philly recently due to an e coli outbreak.

i read that they had to shut it down for awhile so that they could get rid of the rats there.
