Windshield repair is usually covered by your auto insurance - they would rather pay to have your windshield repaired rather than pay to have it replaced. Check the yellow pages for windshield repair shops and they should be able to help you out - most will do it for free and take care of the insurance claim for you, Good Luck!

Nearly all windshield repair companies can easily repair a chip for $25 to $50 depending upon where you live. Start there. Don't turn in to insurance. Your deductible is probably higher than the repair cost and small repair cost are not worth the potential increase in premiums. Don't try to repair it yourself. Spend the money before the chip turns into a crack that runs across your entire windshield.

You may want to consult with your insurance company. Many times they will actually pay for the repair. This will save you a deductible and them the rest of the cost if they can stop the crack from spreading and leading to the need for a brand new windshield.
There are some carwashes that offer "free" windshield repair.

Take it to a windshield repair outfit. They can make it totally invisible for around $20. If you have insurrance, that is probally covered. Otherwise, take a small drill and score at the end of the crack, you may need to do both sides.

Super glue will work perfectly in the hole, and it will never spread. It bonds to the rough edges in the hole, and keeps it from spreading, and forming any cracks That would form and travel away from it and across the windshield.
This is the easiest method. If you are going for an inspection you may have to have it replaced. Check with Insurance they should cover it.
