No, when I was a kid, the "gangs" was something you didn't want to be in. Yes, even back then "gangs" were bad.

We ran in packs...there were so many kids in my neighborhood when I was growing up, it was wonderful. We hung out in little groups with our friends, but it was also not unusual for all the kids in the neighborhood to get together and play games like red light, green light, baseball, hide and go seek etc...we even made up our own games. I had a great childhood.

No I only had like 3 friends and we were pretty open but me and my friend claimed we were sisters seperated at birth because we could read each others minds without looking at one another..... we were pretty cool for that.
