why should actors and actresses be banned from running for a position in the government?

they shouldn't be banned, as anyone who is interested can run for those positions.

granted, i'm not saying that actors and actresses are smart, in fact i think the opposite, but you can't cut off one group like that.

so people vote for them for their political views, not a character they play
