It is interesting that that is where it was. Are you also doing the Beth Moore bible study on Daniel because that is where i just learned that. But i also thought that maybe that is why Bush was so persistant about us going there.
How relevant the past is at times.

So..what's the coincidence? What's relative here? What's your point as it relates to today? I wouldn't equate the Iraq people's views or values as an American view. They don't want the same thing as us. They don't even understand what democracy is for God's sake! Do they understand the freedom of going to a baseball game and having a beer?
How about a pork sandwhich? How about looking at a woman that's not dressed from head to toe in black cloak? Where's the fun in that? As far as I'm concerned, if human civilization was started in Iraq......it's a long road from the beginning to where we are now and quite frankly, I think I'm better off.

Civilization sprang up there because the landscape was right -- water from the Tigris and Euphrates rivers, fertile land, etc. I wouldn't call that coincidence.

It IS interesting- isn't it... -That Civilization can go from being a cradle- to a grave... I'm afraid it doesn't look too good for the rest of us...

"That is where the Bible put it" ???
I don't believe in the Bible, but the Bible didn't put anything anywhere. It's a supposed recording of a christian's version of history.
That's like saying the attack on Pearl Harbor happened in Hawaii cause that's where the history books put it.
