Yes, I bought a house that had a steep driveway down to a basement level indoor garage. Never again, the rain ran in and it would fill head high with snow. I was going to brick in the garage and fill up the driveway but sold the house instead.

Yes, that would be hard. But if I really loved the house, I would try to think of something, maybe make a "pad" off to the side of the driveway, to pull into and turn around that way. But I don't think I would buy a house on a busy street because of the noise, and danger to my daughter. (and my pets).

My only concern is what kind of street is on the end of the drive way. My kids will be playing on that driveway one day and I don't want them anywhere near a busy street.

I've decided against buying a house because it had a REALLY steep, short driveway that backed straight on to a main road.

Absolutely. I'd never buy a house with a real steep driveway.

I understand your issue, but if the house was 'perfect' a driveway can very easily be reconstructed to fit your needs. So, no, it wouldn't deter me from buying.

Not a problem for me, lol. My dad has been in concrete construction for 35 years. In fact the house that we are living in now is going to get a new driveway and porch courtesy of him as soon as we get our income tax in.

I hate driveways that curve too much. I can't see where I'm supposed to back my car. I would also hate a driveway with too much of a slope in our winter weather.

you can always redo a driveway...we did in our last house, we widened it to double its original width. we just moved into new construction so we have to start all over again.

Slopes, infestations, sinking surface, train tracks running though it, major crack from fault line, connected to an interstate.
