3 times:
1)a boy sinking in quicksand:flat on my belly crawled to words him, other bystanders got hold of a tree branch and pulled us both out
2)A kid from drowning in a swimming pool:he dove from the high dive and did not surface I waited a few seconds:still nothing:found him on the bottom:CPR immediately. He had hit his head so hard he fainted.
3)Again in water:someone with bike rode into a canal, could not swim and sank almost immediately:many bystanders,so asked what was going on:did not think for a second:kicked my shoes of and went after the person.Within a minute i grabbed some hair:pulled her out Started CPR in the water.police and ambulance arrived at that moment:dropped a ladder and got the woman out first.
I was dead beat from searching, seeing nothing and wanting to safe that person.
I had extra oxygen for a while and was brought home,by the police.
I would do it again,i don't hesitate one moment:ever.

I actually saved my nephew;s life. He was chiking at home and fell out of his high chair and was knoked unconcious. I gave him mouth to mouth for about 2 minutes before i realized he was choking because the air i was breathing into him was not making his chest rise with each breath. I then performed the heimlech on him, and the air that was left in his lungs was enough to expell the food, and start the coughing reaction that is always a sign that air is making it where it needs to be. I felt like a king that day, and I believe everyone should have Red Cross sanctioned First Aid training so that if a situation was to ever arrise where someone you know, or even someone you don't, is in danger you can help them.

Yeah, maybe, I think so. The first "maybe" was taking a honeybee out of my aunt's hair - she was violently allergic and SAID she'd die if she got stung. I was only about 7 years old.
The second was when three of us were swimming in a sandpit and one guy cramped up. I swam to shore pulling him, but thought he was going to drown us both for a while!
And after a terrible car wreck, I dragged a dazed guy away from the flaming wreck. He was sitting so close his eyelashes were singed!
There've been a couple other "maybes" too, but this is enough for now.

have saved a few in my life time
the best / worst / funniest / stupidest one was;
i was at a pool in a motel and i was on the other end of the pool flirting with a few girls, i heard this woman screaming "oh my god my son is drowning" and then in the same sentence said "and i can't get my hair wet because i just had it done"
i ran to the other end of the pool where the kid was still kicking about, jumped in soaked the mother standing there and pulled her son out safely. Instead of her thanking me she cussed me out for getting her hair wet instead of thanking me for saving her son's life, i stood there and said to myself.......... WTF
to be honest i think that woman would have let her son drown, so she wouldn't mess up her hair, and folks that's why some people should NOT have children

Yup !!
As a volunteer firefighter for about 12 years, I was involved in extricating accident victims from wrecked cars. Not as much fun as it sounds !! And certain medical calls, till the ambulance got there. I performed CPR on a few different people....some lived... some didn't .
But the experience of being a volunteer firefighter was awesome !!

Yes. Back in 1996 I did CPR on my grandma after she had a heart attack (which was a VERY emotional experience! for me), and a couple years ago I performed the baby Heimlich maneuver on a toddler in a hospital cafeteria of all places.

my cousin was drowning and i pulled him up from the pool. but i told him not to go onto the deep end. and i was young and pisssed off at him for disobeying. (babysitting) So i just sat there for a moment watching him kick around in the water. Until i felt that he was punished enuff. He was crying so hard. And he still brings this up til this day.

2 dogs and 1 human. Freed first dog had a leash choking him, so i cut him loose. Second dog got bit by a rattle snake (while camping), so I sucked the venom out (her face was starting to swell). Thirdly, performed CPR on a choking woman.
