because in American football a touchdown is worth 6 points...........in your sissy european football (known as soccer) a score is only worth 1 point.............and since you are comparing nations..........ever heard of a soccer hooligan? they start riots when their team doesn't win.....so shut up

I believe the Lil Curly answered it best. But I will put my two points worth in.
Pro sports are so adrenaline driven that it is just natural that you get pumped up when you score/sack/intercept etc in American Football. I do believe that some people go a bit far (celebrating every tackle when the players job is to do just that, for example).
Each sport does their own thing. Soccer players flipping or sliding on their knees and taking their shirt off after scoring for instance.
Players on the sidelines can get caught up in the excitement just like fans in the stands.

Its called celebrating. Suggestion-right after a TD is scored, immediately turn the channel or look away.
BTW, I'm an American and I don't consider Australians as Europeans.

Because that's how you play the game. There is so much excitement, they don't just hold it in, they let it out. But there is also a fun side to it. The endzone celebration is a way of showing off, and embarrasing the other team. Banging the chest is symbolic, for the guy is a beast. Nodding the head is the fun part of the game. The guy @ 51 sec. is pumped because the other guy just got laid out. You pump up the crowd, the crowd pumps you up. THAT'S HOW WE DO IT IN AMERICA!

They're stupid idiots. All they have is their athletic ability and no brains. They think spectators would be impressed with their little displays of ridiculousness.
