If the computer is on a network with more computers in your house, then you can install a VNC program that you can obtain for free by going to the open source website. http://www.uvnc.com/index.html
This site explains how to install and use this program. You can watch live what your child is doing when they are doing it and they will not know that you are watching them.

You can also use a keylogger. You can also install a program that will only allow them to go where you give the permission for them to go.

I know it is morally wrong to spy on people without their permission but you have to do what you gotta do.

Here's a link to a program that will monitor everything she does online or offline. You have to protect her online. Some kids are very vulnerable and it's pretty dangerous on here. Good luck!

When you say she deletes the memory, I assume you mean she erases the history.
there is a long listing of cookies that don't delete directly.
they are a great source because they have been set up to communicate with the computer more efficiently.

I hope you are only worried about a young girl and your not trying to limit an older, say teenager, from gaining some freedom and knowledge. it's a tough balance like reading a diary!

If she is old enough to be online chatting up, I guess she is old enough for a heart to heart talk. Instead of spying on her it is better to find out directly from her. I agree with you that your intent is noble, but treating her like an adult would present better future for her. The greatest advantage is that she would have found her best friend in you and she may never need to chat with someone else.
In case you are bent on snooping, All the IMs have the option of log of chats which can be accessed by the user but you have to log in somehow using her identity (user ID and password), which make it improbable. The other option to find out which sites she visits is to wait patiently for her to make a mistake of not deleting the history. (Technology is a big disadvantge in this respect, sooner or later someone is bound to skip a step and get trapped). Bottom line - again an adult adult heart to heart talk is ideal under the circumstances

I installed in my computer, and I can monitor EVERYTHING that happens, it's awesome. I have a 14 years old, and he knows I monitor the computer. He doesn't know how much I know about what he does. He thinks I just have a parental control. Please do yourself and your children a favor an monitor what they do on the computer!!

Good Luck, and be ready to see somethings you wouldn't imagine your child would ever look, or type...but remember it's all part of growing, and it should help you to guide them..

You know you shouldn't do that. You need to be able to try and talk to your daughter and trust her, cause if you're planning on spying on her and she finds out you will completely lose your trust with your daughter and i can guarantee that she will not forgive you. Trust your daughter and if you're worried about her talking to people online that she shouldn't be talking to then you need to be the one to tell her that there are some people online that are bad and that who ever she talks to she needs to be incredibly cautious about what information gives out.
Do not spy on your daughter trust her and talk to her.

sounds like your spying.. well if its for a good reason (but trust me it has to be a good reason) use it..
sign into her AIM and there should be an option to record all of her conversations, you need her password though

Short of installing a keylogger on the computer, there is not too much you can do by yourself.
