It doesn't matter what topic i choose, I just need to be able to make a compare and contrast and a process analysis about it. I have no idea what to write about!!! The paper is due in two weeks, so i have the whole spring break to write it!

Please HELP!

These suggestions sound pretty deadly. Pick something that's more fun - that you enjoy - and the teacher will probably enjoy reading about it also. Don't go heavy. You could write about something from the entertainment world - a critique of how American Idol contestants advance - as long as your paper accomplishes its purpose, which you stated in your question. Give yourself a break, give the teacher a break.

How about comparing two books, like The Stranger and The Book of Ruth (it's an actual book in the Oprah Book Club). I had to compare these two books in an English class, and they're actually not that long. Or compare and contrast two different time periods, such as the Renassience and the Dark Ages. I hope this helps :)

As an English professor, I can tell you we get a ton of papers on those hot-topic controversial issues.

How about something more contemporary? Maybe the situation in Darfur? Folks compare it with the holocaust and what went on in Rwanda, but it's different, too. There are a lot of complexities to the problem that make it a topic with a ton of writing choices.
