It is the social norm/status quo to wear a towel when we come out of the shower. It is like smoking a cigarette after a sex scene. Same thing....

it must be ugly to picture dd in pants but without them hes funny and cute. the towel's just to keep up with the social norms(he has to wear sthing)

I think it's a sight gag. Something off to ponder, and talk about.
Also he isn't wearing his shirt, so he's naked. Can't be on screen and naked, with kids watching.
