"A pennant race inspired Maddux. He was 6-3 with a 3.30 ERA after being traded by the Cubs to the Dodgers. He is tough to hit as long as he can locate pitches on the fringes of the strike zone. When he misses, it's pretty much batting practice. Fantasy Source Spin: His skills are eroding, but wins aren't a problem." -SportingNews on Greg Maddux
"Robertson matured last season and became a solid starter. Before, he would allow his frustration on the mound to defeat him. He also gained velocity on his fastball. Fantasy Source Spin: A solid No. 4 with upside, particularly in terms of wins." -SportingNews on Nate Robertson
I hope this information helps you but, me personally would take Nate Robertson I think he will have the stronger season.

Greg Maddux = Greg Maddux.. not Nolan Ryan. Relies too much on pitch control due to declining arm strength. Robertson has an improved lineup to support him, plus Zumaya & Jones to close his victories, i'd take Robertson's promise over Maddux's experience at this stage in their careers. But it's still your decision in the end.

Tough... Robertson is young and unproven but has a lot of promise. Maddux is older and not anywhere near as great as he was but honestly I think I'd take Maddux over Robertson.

As slow as Maddux throws now and as big as Petco is you would have to be a monster to hit it out, he could have some good games - plus he gets to pitch in another friendly stadium against a sometimes light hitting team - LA (they brought him there last year because of this record at Chavez Ravine). he won't being getting a lot of K's.
Nate the skate either throws a CG/SO or gives up 14 runs in 2 innings, you don't know which one you'll get.

I saw Robertson pitch three times in person last year and several times on TV. He was unlucky with support last year and could have easily had 17 wins on a World Series team.
He is a big, strong bulldog.
Maddux is over 40 years old, relying on just control. He does not have the strength to get by with a fastball anymore. He may win 15 games in San Diego if he has a very good year.
Robertson will win 15 with a very good team if he has just a good year.

i have been playing fantasy baseball for many many years, for money, and have won alot of trophys, but heres my suggestion. I personally at this stage of his career and if he stays healthy he can put up 13 wins, 118 k's. a 4.26 ERA, and 1.24 WHIP's in the 2007 season. Out of Nate expect 12 wins, 146 k's, 4.27 ERA, and 1.33 WHIP's. So take Maddux over Nate. hope this helps. good luck on you fantasy baseball season.

i would say maddux, because he is moving to petco park which is a pitcher's paradise. plus he will be facing some inept teams in the nl west. so i think that he is the safer bet for this year.
