Why are the flags at half staff?

I hadnt heard of any government official dieing, or even a natrual disaster anywhere. Does anyone know why the flags in Missouri are at half staff?

I've noticed some here in Ohio at half staff...what the person above me said, maybe it's because we lost some troops...?

Maybe one of the troops overseas passed away.
