my name is Brandi, and she calls me Brendi. And she even spells it that way even though the corporate office has it right, and my checks are printed right. She is Russian, and she doesn't speak english that great. The other employees think its funny, sometimes they call me that joking around, it doesnt bother me at all, but should I tell her or just let her call me that?

I am in the same situation u are. My name is Alexandra, and teachers (especially from the east side of the U.S.) call me Alexandria. It's so annoying! I just tell them that my name is actually Alexandra, then if they practice saying that, they call me by my normal name. BUT, if this has been going on for like two months or more with out opening your mouth, then it's probably too late. Then, the person will be mad at the fact that u didn't tell them earlier.

The best thing (in my opinion) would be to let it go....... but if you want to correct her, please take her privately and explain how it's really pronounced and spelled, but please do not do this in front of anyone else. I'm sure she means no harm and just doesn't realize. The Brendi pronunciation sounds right for a russian accent, and the spelling....... well, I doubt I could spell well in any other language.........

lol. Brendi. lol. That's just her Russian accent. Don't take it personal. If she does spell it wrong again just tell her in a nice way. She won't be offended.

She probably can't say it any other way. Her accent is the problem. It really isn't her fault. I wouldn't make too big a deal out of it. Maybe just tell her once, but don't keep at her about it. Be nice if and when you tell her. Use tact, because she might be insulted and you don't want to do that.

Maybe she can't pronounce Brandi, and it sounds like Brendi?? Both names are nice. :-)
So if you really don't mind it, I would just let her call you that.

If you have the opportunity to send her a memo, make sure you print your signature. Maybe she'll pick up on the difference in spelling.

Just start calling her that and if she asks about it say you thought it was some sort of Russian pet name! Then you can tell her your real name.
If it doesn't bother you I wouldn't say anything, you might embarrass her

Just straight up tell her. Nothing wrong with that, cuz she won't get mad. And hopefully she'll remember to pronounce your name properly

I think you should tell her. Simply say, I'd like it if you called me Brandi instead of Brendi, since this is my name. If she doesn't correct her pronounciation of your name, then start mispronouncing her name. If she corrects you then tell her you didn't think pronounciation mattered, since she misspronounces your name.
