when you are pregnant for a couple of months, the fetus is just a ball of cells... there is DNA in those cells, but it's almost impossible to get a sample. Also, mitosis and meiosis haven't occurred yet which are the processes by which your genetic material mixed up with the father's genetic material creating a unique mix which makes up each individual and that's why we are all different. You can get a DNA test when the baby is born, because anytime before will be very expensive and much more complicated because you can't simply really get a blood sample from the fetus inside you... good luck

If at some point in your pregnancy you have to have an amniocentesis or chorionic villi sample done you can request that a paternity test be done at the same time. Otherwise, the risks associated with the tests do not warrant doing them only for the sake of paternity.

Paternity tests are done by swabbing the inside of the cheek of the baby and the father and then analyzing the DNA.

If you have amnio done you can request it then...but if you don't you'll have to wait until the baby is born and then have DNA tests run.

No, you have to wait till you are farther along and then you can have it done. Or, you can wait until the baby is born.
