I know it is sorta old 2003 but I just saw it and was wondering if it was close to what really happened it seemed to be and from what I have read, I just wanted other opinions

I think it was also called Chasing the Dragon and it starred Cate Blanchett, Gerald McSorley, Paudge Behan,

Yeah, the characters and events were kept fairly accurate, with a few changes for cinematic purposes, I think. For example, some characters were amalgamated into one, but yes, the reporting of organised drug crime, threats, shooting and eventual murder did take place and the voice-over at the end is also factual.
