I agree with at least one person on here that the Texans should have traded down to take Vince Young. However before the draft I didn't think he would transition to the NFL game. But the more I looked into Vince and how he played his final year of NCAA ball, and how he CARRIED himself: as a determined leader and winner with humility I saw that he MIGHT have been good in the NFL. He delivered with flying colors! Hindsight IS 20/20 and the Texans would have made a great PR move, and great move for their organization. Vince Young is a playmaker-like Michael Vick only bigger, and more talented(he passes the ball well) so to answer your question: YES the Texans should have taken Vince Young.

All I'm saying is that they past on 2 franchise players who play in extremely important positions

Mario Williams is also a Franchise talent but he plays DE, and that position is not as important as QB or RB, look at all the DE's in this years Draft there are 4 or 5 Studs but if you look at QB and RB there are only 2 in each

So there pick last year just reflects one of the many reasons that the Texans have been a a bad franchise
everybody is just waiting for them to turn it around

I'm hoping with the new GM they don't make the same mistake and pass on Brady Quinn, and Adrian Peterson
(even though Levi Brown and Joe Thomas would be good picks as well)

No ... instead of keeping the #1 pick, they should have traded it away for a slightly lower pick and then worked on improving that horrific unit that is supposedly called an offensive line.

David Carr appears to have the goods. However, without any protection, not even Peyton Manning would be where he is today. The Texans should have made a deal to work the free agency market and pick up a solid guard and/or decent defensive player as well as swap spots. The Texans then could have drafted Nick Mangold as their new center and turn this team around. If you see what Mangold has done for the Jets' O-Line, then you would agree with me on that point.

The Texans unearthed a gem with DeMeco Ryans, but they need to make a big splash in this year's draft. With the #8 pick, they should pick up Levi Brown (OT) to begin revamping their beleaguered front line.

One draft pick does not make a team. Tell me, who was the #1 draft pick which got the Patriots to all those Super Bowls? Defense wins championships. There will not only be great players in the next draft but there will be some who will rival Bush and Young. The Texans are still a young franchise. Give them time to build their team. I think you will be surprised in 2-3 years what they will have. Although Ahman Green is not the answer. What are they thinking?

Yes

They look retarded now

This is probably what they were thinking.........

Vince Young, Reggie Bush, or Mario Williams

Young is a fairly accurate passer with a good set of wheels

Bush is quite frankly THE MAN, he returns kicks, runs the ball, and can play WR w/ the best of them

Williams is big

We're the Texans, so we'll take Williams

Yes, anyone but Mario Williams, he is terrible!! Reggie Bush should have been their choice over him, in fact, a President Bush should have been the choice above him!! Vince would have helped, and him scoring that touchdown to beat the Texans in Houston was a clear cut sign.

No! Reggie Bush is and was better than both Young, and Williams put together, and know the Texans will pay for it. Reggie, the only one that really helped its team get to the playoffs last year, Championship Game to be exact, was everybodys elses #1 Pick, except for those dumb Texans. Ha.

Ideally they should have traded David Carr for additional picks then drafted Vince Young. I think David Carr is an NFL quarterback, just not a starter. He doens't have a big name running back and even if they drafted Reggie Bush, I don't think that would have changed things.

Yes, but unless the Texans improve that offensive line it wil not matter who the quarterback. Young's elusiveness and size would help avoid some sacks, but not on every single play.

Why are you asking this question now. You should be asking if the Texans should draft Brady Quinn?
