In the Control Panel there is an option called Power Options. There is a place where you can set the time to power off your monitor, which is what is actually happening to your monitor. You can set the time to power off the monitor in as little as 1 minute or as long as never with times in between.

You can also get to the same window of Display Properties by right clicking in any open area of your Desktop and clicking on Properties. Click on the Screen Saver tab and at the bottom is Monitor Power where you can set the Power off time if you wish.

Your monitor is fine and is doing what it was set to do. Just reset it the way you like it.

Proceed.

That is perfectly normal. This happens if you have the power management set to turn the monitor off after a certain period of time, like maybe... ten minutes.

Granted, monitors are supposed to detect that the computer shut the signal off and go into low power mode. But maybe you just have to wait a little longer.

Bottom line is, there is nothing to worry about.

Under Power Options, your monitor is set to turn-off after ten minutes.

Start cheap. How old is the monitor???
Still the original wires???

Good luck

Check the "power options" in "Start", "Control Panel" "power Options" and make sure it's not set to hibernate after 10 minutes. If it is, set it to at least an hour.

is it a desktop or a laptop???
if it is a laptop it might be a power setting that turns things off because of power usage

You should check your Power settings. I think your PC is going on 'standby'.
